James Cook, MSN FNP-C earned both his Bachelor and Masters of Science from Oregon Health and Science University in La Grande, Oregon. Cook completed his Emergency Management clinical hours at Blue Mountain Hospital in John Day, Oregon and his Practicum in Rural Primary Care Management at the Harney District Hospital in Burns, Oregon. James Cook brings considerable experience with specialization in urgent care, family and emergency medicine. James Cook joined the US Navy in 1998 and was stationed on NASNI, Coronado Island, CA. He was also stationed on the USS John C. Stennis where he was a mechanic on C-2 Greyhounds. James spent the first part of his nursing career at St. Lukes’ Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in Boise, Idaho. He continued working in multiple nursing disciplines with a strong emphasis on emergency medicine at Blue Mountain Hospital, while pursuing his master’s degree at OHSU becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner. James and his wife Breanna have two children. They love to fish, camp, hike and spend time with their family.
